If you’ve seen the trailer for the new hit movie Atomic Blonde, you know that it has great reviews and an intriguing plot about a spy who is sent to Berlin in 1989 to find out what happened to an undercover agent. However, the plot isn’t all this film has going for it. It was filmed using meticulous attention-to-detail, with digitised surveillance footage that’s eerily similar to today's living rooms. The film’s director, David Leitch, wanted to create a movie that was so realistic that it could be viewed by today’s audiences as though they were watching a documentary. The result is a film with a unique and original setting, with an intriguing storyline and excellent performances from actress Charlize Theron. In Berlin in 1989, MI6 agent Lorraine Broughton (Charlize Theron) is tasked with shadowing a skilled CIA agent named David Percival (James McAvoy). It’s been six months since the Berlin Wall fell and the streets are alive with political freedom. Lorraine and David are tasked with investigating a string of murders and missing persons that Lorraine believes to be linked. But as the two agents begin to uncover evidence leading to a high-ranking government official, the stronger the political ties become – and the more dangerous their investigation becomes. The action is non-stop as they try to navigate both their personal relationship and the secrets surrounding them. Theron is an award-winning actress who has been nominated for three Academy Awards for Best Actress. She has also starred in several blockbuster films including Mad Max: Fury Road and Snow White and the Huntsman. Her performance in Atomic Blonde has been praised by critics. The film was shot on location in Sofia, Bulgaria and Berlin, Germany. The plot of Atomic Blonde is intriguing and well planned, and the twists and turns in the plot will keep you guessing until the very end. But what really makes this movie special is its technological emphasis. The camera used for filming was so high-tech that it actually incorporated a surveillance camera from 1989. This meant that when the film played out in theatres, audiences could view each scene as if they were watching real events in a real location in Berlin in 1989. The film is directed by David Leitch, who is known for his work on films such as The Wolverine and John Wick. It was released in 2017 and filmed in Sofia, Bulgaria and Berlin, Germany. The movie has been nominated for several awards since it originally came out, including Atomic Blonde is a hit with critics and audiences alike – one of the top 5 films of 2017 (according to Rotten Tomatoes). Audiences noted that although the plot is gripping and well-paced, the real draw of the film was its attention to detail. IMDb rated Atomic Blonde at 7.8/10 stars on their website. cfa1e77820
